Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
The short version: We collect nothing. We track nothing. We store nothing about you. Your data is yours.
Data We Collect
None. Uphill does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There are no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no usage monitoring of any kind.
Your Tasks and Settings
All tasks, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
Uphill Buddy and Gift Codes
Two optional features communicate with Apple's iCloud servers:
Uphill Buddy — If you pair with an accountability partner, an anonymous pairing code and your task completion count (just a number) are stored on Apple's servers. No names, emails, or identifying information is involved.
Gift Codes — If you purchase or redeem a gift code, the code and its status are stored on Apple's servers. No personal information is attached.
We do not operate any servers of our own for these features.
Purchases
All purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive, see, or store any payment information.
Notifications
Uphill can send reminders if you enable them. These are scheduled directly on your device — nothing is sent from a server.
The Void
Text entered in The Void is never saved, stored, or transmitted. When you tap "Scream," the text is destroyed permanently. We couldn't read it even if we wanted to. We don't want to.
Launch Notifications
If you sign up for launch notifications on our website, your email address is stored on our server. It will be used once to notify you when Uphill launches, then permanently deleted. It is never shared with anyone.
Third-Party Services
Uphill does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services.
Children's Privacy
Since we collect no data at all, there is no data to collect from anyone, including children.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Given that we collect nothing, changes are unlikely.
