Add a task

Tap the + button. Give it a name and a weight (1–999). The weight is how much it matters to you.

Push it up the screen

Long-press a task, then drag it upward. You'll feel resistance. Reach the threshold and let go to complete it.

That's it

Everything else - the Void, Focus Mode, Rocks Roulette, the Cosmic Perspective, Uphill Buddy - you'll figure out. Or you won't. Either way.

Discovery is part of the experience.

How do I restore my premium purchase?

Open Uphill → tap the gear icon (Settings) → scroll to “Support” → tap “Restore Purchases.” This checks your Apple ID and unlocks premium automatically.

My tasks disappeared. What happened?

If you have “Daily Fresh Start” enabled in Settings, all tasks are deleted every day at 4:00 AM. This is intentional. If “True Sisyphus Mode” is active, this can't be turned off for 7 days. Check Settings under “The Cycle.”

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Why can't I add more than 10 tasks?

Free users are limited to 10 active tasks. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited tasks and all features. Plans start at $0.99/month with a 14-day free trial, or $9.99 one-time for lifetime access.

Does Uphill sync across devices?

Task data is stored locally on your device and does not currently sync between devices. Premium status is tied to your Apple ID.

Is my data collected?

No. Zero data. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What are the Premium pricing options?

Monthly ($0.99/mo), Quarterly ($1.99/3 months), Yearly ($4.99/year - best value), or Lifetime ($9.99 one-time). All subscription plans include a 14-day free trial. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.

What is Focus Mode?

Swipe right on any task to start a focus timer. Only one task can be focused at a time. You can also use Rocks Roulette - it randomly picks a task and duration for you. The widget shows your active focus session live.

What is True Sisyphus Mode?

A voluntary 7-day commitment where all tasks are deleted at your reset time every day. You cannot disable it once activated. To turn it on, go to Settings → The Commitment and type “I ACCEPT THE VOID” when prompted.

How does Uphill Buddy work?

Generate a 6-character code in Settings → Accountability. Share it with one person who enters it in their app. You'll each see only the other's daily task completion count - no names, no messages, no identifying information. Uses Apple's iCloud.

What do the widgets show?

The Memento Mori widget has three states: it shows the percentage of day elapsed (default), a live focus timer when a session is active, or a countdown to your next daily reset. Available in all home screen and lock screen sizes.
